Clarification: Your scout needs to collect money UP FRONT. We prefer that you turn in 1 check per scout, made out to “Pack 1491″. To do that, have the customers make out checks to the scout’s parent or pay cash, and the parent writes 1 total check to “Pack 1491″. If your customers prefer to write their checks to “Pack 1491″, that’s ok, too, but limiting the number of checks to manage is better.
Popcorn sales are starting early this year – envelopes will be ready for the “den kernels” to pick up and distribute on Friday, July 29th. Online sales (when your scout gets credit) start Monday, August 1st. Scouts may start selling as soon as they have envelopes.
Selling popcorn is our pack’s primary funding source. Please encourage your scout to do his best ($300 minimum goal).

Sale Info
- Online sales count toward your scout’s prize totals at www.scouts.trails-end.com starting 8/1. Consider using Facebook or other social networking sites to point friends and family to your scout’s online sales form.
- Selling popcorn is a way for scouts to help contribute to our pack, practicing responsibility. Each scout is asked to sell a minimum of $300.
- Have your scouts wear their Class A uniform.
- Buyers who don’t want popcorn for themselves can still make a Military Donation of $50 or $30 – the product goes to Dobbins Air Force Base.
- A great ask – “would you like to support scouting by buying popcorn for yourself, the military, or both?”
- Order forms are due Wednesday, October 12th.
- Product will be available for delivery to the dens on Friday, November 4th.
- Each scout’s envelope includes 2 order forms, product information, a prize sheet, and instructions to sell online.
Prize info
- Every $400 in sales earns your scout a pie to throw in a leader’s face J.
- $250 or more in sales earns Wal-mart or Amazon gift cards to purchase whatever your scout wants.
- $600 in sales earns a “Zyclone” – an AWESOME nerf-like shooter – no marshmallows getting jammed – the boys are going to LOVE THEM!
- $1500 in sales earns 2 passes to the GA Aquarium/$2500 in sales earns 2 passes to the GA Aquarium plus a behind the scenes tour and VIP reception/$3500 earns the previous prizes plus $50 gift card and trophy.
- Sell $2500 and 6% of scout’s total sales each year is invested in his own scholarship account.
- $100 in Military Donations earns a special new patch.
- $150/$100/$50 to the top 3 sellers.
- Pizza party to the top selling den.
